There are many sect in Taoism.
Our Tai Qing Dao sect is classified under "Dao Jia?", in the context of "esoteric" not philosophical. It is a branch of Tai Shang Men sect that originated from Both Mount Long Hu<龍虎山> and Mount Xiao Yao San<逍遙山> in Southern China. This esoteric teaching came to Indonesia around 1400-1800 CE, and has been passed down secretly since there was a limitation of "Chinese culture movement" due to the Indonesian ex-President Soeharto's political ban.
Our main text/book is "Tai Sang Lao Jun Cen Ching" / "Sacred book of the Exalted One", one of the surviving Taoist Esoteric texts/books that was written by "Chang Tian Shi / Chang Dao Ling / (Founder of Taoism)".
There are two main stream of Tai Shang Men in Indonesia;
1. Tai Qing Dao
2. Xiao Yao Pai
1. Tai Qing Dao sect as a branch of Tai Shang Men, had been established by Taoist Master "Yek Fak Pao Dao Shi"; aka Sukpo. He had been teaching Taoism for the last 45 years. His total disciples/pupils/scholar all over Indonesia are more than 30,000 students. He ad successfully preserved and transmitted "True Tao" (Zhen Tao) to most of his senior students. He passed away on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 23:15 (GMT +7, Indonesia's local time) at age 60. Time of Rat; 9th day of 1st Lunar Month.
His title is known as Yek Fak Pao Xian or Fak Pao Zhen Ren. Click here for more info on His biography
2. Xiao Yao Pai is a branch of Tai Shang Men that has been establish by Taoist Master Lee Song Ho. He's been teaching Taoism for longer time. He also lives in Indonesia. His total students all over Indonesia are more than 35,000 students (surveyed in 2001). He has also successfully establish the first Taoist Organization in Indonesia called PUTI (Paguyupan Umat Tao Indonesia) and MTI(Majelis Tridharma Indonesia)
Both masters of Tai Shang Men have the same teaching with different personal approach.
Our Virginia Esoteric Daoist Center, have a direct one on one transmission of lineage from The Taoist Master of Tai Qing Dao; Suhu Po.
** Suhu is a fukienese dialect Romanization that have the same character as "Shifu" in mandarin, translated as "Master".
