1. What is tao (Taoism)?
Tao is ‘reason’, a ‘way’, the ‘righteousness’, the correct path one should take.
2. Where can I find tao?
Tao is in our daily lifestyle. It's the way what we should do, how we should
live.
3. What is tao cultivation (xiu tao)? Is it safe?
Tao cultivation is a study on good moral etiquette, about understanding the
meaning and purposes of living, then learn a way to communicate with the
deities.
4. What is the real tao (Zheng tao)? What is evil sect?
The real tao (zheng tao) is about assisting the poor and unfortunate. Evil sect
practices killing and evil black magic.
5. Why is the real tao not affected by evil (xie bu ru zheng)?
Righteousness will eventually overcome evil.
6. What is real tao (zheng tao) believe based on?
The real tao (zheng tao) teaching is based on the highness Tai Shang
Lao Jun and the learning of all other Taoist deities.
7. Is necessary to study tao in remote places like
a cave in the mountain?
Not necessary. With proper guidance (from an experienced master), one can
study/practice Taoism anywhere.
8. What are the benefits in studying tao?
Firstly, one will learn a form/way of communication with deity and qigong. With
constant practice, it will strengthen your body and improve longevity.
9. This form of Taoist practice known as ‘Dao Yin
Su’, is it suitable for all gender and age?
Everyone have their own fate whether or not they can study Taoism. Some will
have little affinity meaning they can only learn the basic in this lifespan,
some with big affinity will be able to learn more successful in studying Taoism.
However, false perceptions and too quick to draw conclusion is the downfall in
studying Taoism.
10. Is it necessary to light joss stick and prayer
daily?
Tao is nature. There is no need to light joss stick and prayer at a particular
time daily. Most important is the sincerely.
11. Is it safe to study Taoism?
Taoism is the true teaching on righteousness. Therefore, it is good to study
moral etiquettes, doing good deeds and assist the poor and unfortunate.
12. Who are the Taoist God or Goddess, is it
safe?
God and Goddess in Taoism were people who "Xiu Dao"/study Dao for
a very
long time. It involved a lot of good deeds, good moral etiquette and efforts. They did a lot of good things in helping others while
they were alive. So after they pass away, society still remember their favors &
respect them and The "Primordial Ones" of the VOID rewarded them by giving them
a position in Heaven as a God
or Goddess. So there is no such thing as an evil God/Goddess in
Taoism.
Therefore invoking them is good and safe
13. Will studying Taoism cause one to become
insane?
Definitely no. Taoism is not an evil practice.
14. Is it necessary to live like acetic (like a
hermit) in order to study Tao such as Vegetarian ?
It is not an requirement. But being an vegetarian is good for your health. A: Vegetarian is good for your health, however, it doesn't
make you become more pure or holy. If a vegetarian person is considered to be holy,
then how about cow, sheep, and other animal?.
Same thing with fasting. It doesn't make you more pure / holy. If fasting is,
how about the starving people ? are they all holy?
It is the state of mind that plays the role. If your mind is pure then you are pure.
Dao is natural, doing certain unnatural things such as self-infliction (hurting
their
own body) is not considered to be a Daoism methods.
15. Isn’t it better to retreat into the mountain to
cultivate tao?
The peace and quietness of the remote temples in the mountain is a good place to
study Taoism because there is no disturbance and the air is fresh. But it is not
necessary. God and Goddess doesn't hide in the mountains.
Taoism can be study anywhere.
16. Will cultivating tao prolong one’s life
indefinitely?
It is not possible to prolong one’s life indefinitely. However, with proper
study in Taoism (shen gong and gigong) one’s health is at the peak, thus a
person will be able to live his/her life fully.
17. Some religions claimed that Taoist pray to
devils and demons? Is it true?
In ancient times there are many cults. Some are good and some are bad. There are
some religions/cults that even use to do human sacrifies (sometimes even using
their own children to sacrify) to their false gods. This is evil worshipper -
not taoist.
Taoist deities are all good, they always teaches mankind to be good, kind,
compassion by always helping others.
So, beware of those cults/religions that involve human sacrifies. These are evil
cults or religions!
18. Deities statues are man-made. Praying to these
statues isn't it superstitions?
God and Goddess are God and Goddess. Statues are only statues. God and Goddess
doesn't live inside the statues. These statues are only a tool used in rituals
to made it more alive. Statues are just symbol or representive.
19. Do I have
"Affinity" <Yen Fen> to Study
Tao(Xiu Tao) ?
Every person has his/her own fate whether or not they can
study Daoism. Some of them have little affinity meaning they probably can only learn
the basics in this life time, some of them have a big affinity meaning they can be successful in studying
it in this life time.
There is a Taoist saying; "Rain doesn't bring life to the un-rooted- grasses,
God and Goddess only cross/save mankind who have 'yen-fen'/affinity". Meaning;
To be able to study & practice Dao in this life time is a big grace/blessing and
the chance of that is actually very coincident. While practicing it, it still
requires compatibility. Some people have some compatibility with Taoism in their
mind/thinking/life, therefore; they will achieve 'the understanding of Dao'. But
for those who have some mismatch with Taoism, they will stop at a certain
spiritual level. And that's all they will get in this life time.
False perceptions and being too quick to draw a conclusion is the downfall in
studying Taoism. It is just like people who never taste sugar cane,
how could they explain what it tastes like?
20. Are there any Do's and Don'ts that
must be followed in Taoism ?
A: Dao is natural. Therefore there are no certain dictated
rules. However, every practitioner must have "Wu" or intelligence /
realization. Therefore, it is very obvious that they will not go against the
normal social
etiquette and rules. In conclusion, this would be "Still in control even though
given freedom"
21. Why initiation is needed?
Purpose of Initiation / Dao Yin is to introduce you to the gate of Taoism
World. That's where your journey in
studying is begin.
22. Why need a Teacher to do the initiation?
A teacher / A Taoist master is a person who have been studying and experiencing
Taoist's teaching for long time. Their experiences and understanding is
more advanced than a beginner practitioner.
23. Well, it all sounds good. How do I get started ?
Well, for those who are really want to study Dao, You can contact me
first through email or phone. There is no restriction. Everyone of all ages,
sex, ethnic backgrounds are welcome and it's completely free !
24. Well, I am not Chinese. Can I still learn it ?
Studying Taoism is like studying Mandarin language. Some people study
English, some study Mandarin. Everyone can learn English or Mandarin.
25. My ethic/race is not Chinese, Can I incorporate my own God or Goddess from
my culture in This Taoism?
Taoism come from China. The original religion/belief in China was Taoism long
even before Buddhism came. The ancient Taoist God, Goddess and
Immortals were Chinese. When you work with Chinese God, Goddess, and Immortals, you
are learning Taoism, not something else. When you work/deal with
Buddha/bodhisattva, What you will receive/get Budhism.
26. My religion is "cxxxxxxxx", can I still learn Taoism ?
Tai Qing Dao system is an esoteric Taoism, not a religion. Therefore, you can
learn it. However, it's very important not to mix Taoist teaching with
your existing belief. Because if you want to be able to taste Chinese Tea, you must empty your
water from your cup first so that your cup can be filled with tea.
